Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum
& Mineral Resources has participated in the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28)
convened in Dubai. Moreover, Eng. Tarek El Molla witnessed the signature of a
number of agreements with Scatec, a Norwegian company. Such agreements are about cooperation to implement the green fuel supply for
ships projects in the economic area of the Suez Canal and cooperation in solar
energy projects as well as green ammonia and methanol production projects in
the petroleum sector.
El Molla has confirmed the steady progress
as per Egypt Vision 2030 towards translating low-carbon and energy
transformation strategy into a reality through such implemented projects, in
particular the green hydrogen and its derivatives projects which will be
implemented in cooperation with Scatec. Such projects contribute to
transforming Egypt into a regional center for hydrogen and green fuel and
positioning Egypt on the green sea lanes map. He confirmed that we continue
cooperating with major global companies in these fields.
In this context, Eng. Ibrahim Mekki, Chairman of Egyptian Petrochemicals
Holding Company, and Eng. Ahmed Mahmoud El-Sayed,
Chairman of Misr Fertilizers Production Company "MOPCO", have signed
an agreement on green ammonia with Scatec. Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of
Petroleum & Mineral Resources, Dr. Rania El-Mashat, Minister of
International Cooperation, Mr. Waled Gamal El-Din,
Chairman of General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone, Mr. Terrier Belskog, Chairman of Scatec, a Norwegian
company, and the officers of African Development Bank and British International
Investment have witnessed the signature of the agreement.
