MOPCO signs a cooperation protocol with CARGAS to convert MOPCO'S cars to run on compressed natural gas as a safe, clean, and economical alternative fuel.

On the sidelines of the closing activities of the third day of the Egypt International Energy Conference and Exhibition (EGYPES2024), which was held from February 19–21 under the slogan Energy Conservation: Securing Supply, Energy Transition, and Reducing Emissions. A cooperation protocol was signed between the two companies, Natural Gas Automotive (CARGAS) and Misr Fertilizers Production Company (MOPCO), which includes CARGAS converting the vehicles of MOPCO to work with compressed natural gas as a safe, clean, and economical alternative fuel.

This comes from the keenness of the two companies to implement the policy of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to enhance cooperation between the companies in the sector and the use of natural gas as an alternative fuel for cars due to its environmental and economic importance to the citizen and the state and to reduce carbon emissions.

The signing ceremony was signed on behalf of MOPCO by Eng. Ahmed Mahmoud, Chairman and Managing Director, and Eng. Khaled Gamal, Chairman and Managing Director of CARGAS.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Eng. Magdy Galal, Executive Managing Director of EGAS, Eng. Fouad Rashad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fajr Jordanian-Egyptian Natural Gas Company, and a number of leaders of the two companies.
